New Year, New Me (Unleash the Winner Within You)
CHAPTER ONE: THE WIN PHILOSOPHY
This year, as part of our New Year, New Me journey, I decided to be more intentional about what I read and how I apply it.
One of the books I’m currently reading is Unleash the Winner Within You by Coach Sherry Winn, and honestly, Chapter One already hit differently.
The main message?
Winning doesn’t just happen. It’s built—one mindset, one habit, and one decision at a time.
(Now Let’s BreakItDown)
Coach Winn introduces something called the WIN Philosophy, and it’s not as complicated as it sounds. It’s simply about what separates those who only dream from those who actually win.
W – Widen the Separator’s Gap
A separator is that thing that makes you different from the average person. It’s not talent alone—it’s character, discipline, and consistency. Separators don’t just talk about their dreams. They act—even when it’s uncomfortable. They’re willing to work harder, stay committed longer, and stand out when everyone else is blending in. Dreaming is good. Fantasizing is okay. But dreaming without faith in yourself won’t take you far. Passion is what keeps the gap growing. That burning desire is what pushes you forward when others give up at the first obstacle.
Here’s the real question:
Can you keep going even when results don’t show up in six months—or longer?
When you are fully invested in your goals, quitting stops being an option.
You begin to build habits that quietly push you closer to success every single day using the "The S.A.V.E.R.S Habits", this i will say is Your Daily Power Tools.
Coach Winn talks about habits that help winners stay focused, and she calls them S.A.V.E.R.S:
S – Silence: Take time to pray, meditate, reflect, or simply breathe deeply. Silence helps clear your mind.
A – Affirmations: Repeating positive truths about yourself rewires your mindset.
V –Visualization: Picture the success you want. Your mind needs to see it before your life reflects it.
E – Exercise: A strong mind needs a healthy body.
R – Read: Growth doesn’t happen accidentally—feed your mind with the right books and content.
S – Scribe: Write things down. Journaling your thoughts, ideas, and lessons helps you understand yourself better.
One powerful lesson here is this: Willpower alone will not carry you far. You might push through for a while, but what truly separates winners is mind power. Your subconscious mind is the real driver. Willpower may get you close, but *mind power takes you into real success*.
I – Identify Your “I AM”:
Your thoughts are powerful—whether you’re aware of them or not. The words you say about yourself, especially unconsciously, can shape your future. Your “I AM” statements are not jokes. They are instructions to your mind. They can build your destiny—or quietly destroy it. If you don’t intentionally decide who you want to be, you’ll start believing what people say about you every day. One reminder I loved from this chapter: *Words cannot wound you without your permission.*
N – Navigate Success:
Success requires a shift in mindset. You have to move from believing that life just happens to you to understanding that you have the power to create your life. Successful people are not special—they simply practice successful habits. Faith also plays a big role here. Faith means believing you already own what you don’t physically have yet but deeply know is yours.
And here’s the truth: Faith without perseverance is not faith—it’s doubt.
STEPS FOR ACHIEVING THE WIN PHILOSOPHY
1. What are you willing to do differently? List 10.
2. What are the five I AM statements that you use daily that affect you from reaching success?
3. Replace those five I AM statements with positive statements that will assist you in reaching your desired goal.
4. What habits do you need to change so that you can manifest your dreams?
5. List 3 habits you are willing to commit to daily which will change your paradigm so you can navigate success.
This is just Chapter One, and there’s so much more ahead. I’ll be sharing lessons as I continue reading—breaking them down in a simple, relatable way so we can grow together.
A beautiful piece
